Performance Standard 4: Assessment of and for Student Learning

The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses all relevant data to measure student academic progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to both students and parents throughout the school year.

Short quizzes are used after each new topic to assess the students’ knowledge and retention of the broader topic.  Student outcomes will dictate how the instructor needs to progress or possibly reteach a topic.

The text example is used here to model the types of variety of testing strategies used within one assessment.  A variety of question types such as multiple choice, multiple part true/false, discussion problems and mathematical computations are used in the classroom.
